Sensory Friendly Mornings at Jake’s Unlimited – A More Comfortable Way to Play

At Jake’s Unlimited, we believe every family should have the opportunity to enjoy a fun day together. Over the past few months, we’ve heard from many parents, caregivers, and community members who have asked about creating a sensory-friendly experience.

We’re excited to introduce our Sensory Friendly Mornings, a special event designed to provide a lower-stimulation environment for guests who may benefit from reduced noise, lighting, and other sensory inputs.

Our first Sensory Friendly Morning will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We will continue hosting Sensory Friendly Mornings every Saturday throughout the summer.

Sensory Friendly Morning passes are $19.99 per person and include two hours of unlimited arcade games, laser tag, carnival rides, bowling, and buffet. The buffet will open at 10:30 AM. VR is not included.

To help create a calmer environment, we are reducing capacity to 10% of our available occupancy during Sensory Friendly Morning. Tickets must be purchased in advance at jakesunlimited.com/shop. (coming soon)

What We’re Doing

During Sensory Friendly Mornings, our team will make several adjustments throughout the facility to create a calmer environment, including:

  • Lowering overhead music throughout the facility
  • Turning off televisions where possible
  • Reducing flashing and moving lights on select attractions
  • Operating laser tag without the usual loud music
  • Creating a quieter overall atmosphere with reduced stimulation
  • Making party rooms available as quiet spaces for guests who may need a break

Families are welcome to use the available party rooms as a place to relax, regroup, or take a break from the excitement of the facility.

Guests are also encouraged to bring comfort items that help their child feel successful and comfortable, including:

  • Noise-canceling headphones
  • Fidget toys
  • Coloring books
  • Small puzzles
  • Other favorite sensory or comfort items

What We Can’t Fully Control

We also want to be transparent about what a sensory-friendly event looks like in a large family entertainment center.  Jake’s Unlimited is an 87,000-square-foot facility filled with attractions, arcade games, rides, and activities. While we can make many adjustments, we cannot completely eliminate all sensory stimulation.

Certain attractions will continue operating during the event.

  • Bumper Cars will remain open and naturally produce some noise during operation.
  • Some arcade games have built-in lights, sounds, and music that cannot be individually adjusted or turned off.
  • Guests throughout the building will still create a level of normal activity and excitement.

However, where possible, we will reduce unnecessary stimulation. Attractions such as Radius will operate with flashing lights turned off, and laser tag will run without loud music.

A Learning Experience

This event is our first step toward creating a more inclusive experience for our community.  We understand that sensory needs vary from person to person, and what works well for one individual may not work for another.

We encourage families to share feedback with our team during and after the event so we can better understand what worked well and what changes we should consider for future Sensory Friendly Mornings.

Join Us

We look forward to welcoming families for a calmer morning of arcade games, rides, laser tag, bowling, and fun.  Our hope is simple: to create an environment where more families can make memories together while enjoying Jake’s Unlimited in a way that works best for them.

We can’t wait to see you there!
